Goal of this feed: To raise awareness about the issue of book banning and censorship, promoting books that have been challenged or banned, and fostering a community of individuals who support the freedom to read and access diverse literature.
Not sure if you are on the Approved list? Enter your Bluesky handle via this link:
Before requesting to be added, please check via the link above to see if you are already on the list, thanks!
If you're on the list, all you have to do is add one of the following hashtags to have your post added to the feed. Please note that it may take a bit for your post to be picked up and propagate to the official Bluesky app. Feed will search your most recent 50 posts.
Hashtags include:
#bannedbooks #bookbanning #fightbookbans #UniteAgainstBookBans #RightToReadDay #ReadingIsFreedom #FreedomToRead #LetKidsRead #bookbans #readbannedbooks #IReadBannedBooks #bookcensorship
Parameters still being tweaked.
It's ok to promote your own book if it is a book that has been banned etc WITHIN REASON. If the feed flooded with your self-promo (or promo of your friend's book etc), I will remove you from the Approved User list. Thanks for understanding. I also realize not everyone on the Approved List may have seen these guidelines, so I'll remove anyone who is using the hashtags for topics other than what is feed is intended for (see "Goals" earlier in this post) -- I'm happy to add them back once they've had a chance to read the guidelines.
To be added to the Approved List, please reply to the pinned post in this feed saying that you agree with the guidelines: to use #IReadBannedBooks and related hashtags for posts directly related to raising awareness about the issue of book banning and censorship, promoting books that have been challenged or banned, and fostering a community of individuals who support the freedom to read and access diverse literature. If you post about a specific book (whether it's yours or someone else's), you also agree to be reasonable about how often you post; I will remove users from the Approved List if it comes to my attention that anyone is spamming the feed. Thanks for understanding.
