This feed is curated by me (Debbie Ridpath Ohi), highlighting Bluesky posts I find funny, thought-provoking, beautiful, uplifting, or fascinating. Criteria is unapologetically subjective. Feed intended for grown-ups, not kids.
Goal of this feed: To provide a curated feed of Bluesky content that will hopefully uplift, entertain or inform, plus help users discover new content creators to follow.
If you'd like to suggest a post for the feed, submit the post link via this form.
Content that I am NOT as likely to highlight:
- Posts that point to content outside of Bluesky.
- Art or photos that have no alt-text
- Art or photos that were not created or taken by the original content creator (unless credit is included)
- Political (even if I agree with the politics)
- Super-message-y (even if I agree with the message)
- Stuff I find too gross or too crude.
- Attacks on real-life individuals or organizations.
- Negativity (unless it's funny snark that doesn't fall in the above categories).
- Crowd-funded projects.
- Posts that are trying to sell something.
- Memes that have been widely shared already.
Content I lean toward:
- Funny without being mean.
- Photos of amazing crafty stuff (I am esp obsessed with tiny things).
- Photos of tiny food.
- Fascinating / interesting facts that most people don't know (esp by those who are experts in that area).
- Funny parenting posts (that don't make fun of the kids) or sentimental/uplifting parenting posts.
- Impressive art process pics or videos.
- Fun evidence of over-the-top hobby obsessions
I try not to post too many of the same kind of content (e.g. beautiful scenery) in a row, so keep an "Uplift Fodder" list. If you suggest a post and I don't use it right away, it doesn't mean I'm rejecting it; I may decide to use it the next day, or next week, or months down the road.
Thanks for reading this far!
