Collection details and feed path

When you create a collection, you set basic information that identifies it in the app and (if you publish it) on Bluesky.

Your collection’s Title and Description are how you (and others, once published) recognize what the collection is about.

  • Collection Title is required (max 24 characters). Example: Useful Bluesky Threads
  • Collection Description is required (max 300 characters). Example: A hand-picked set of threads about useful workflows and experiments in Bluesky.

This information is stored when you create the collection (and they’re also used when you publish the collection as a feed).

Every collection is created with an Account.

  • This is required in the setup wizard.
  • It controls which connected Bluesky account is used if you publish this collection as a feed.
  • If you only use the collection privately, the account selection still matters for setup, but it won’t affect where your posts appear on Bluesky.

Tip: if you have multiple connected accounts, double-check you’ve selected the one you want the published collection to belong to.

The Feed Path is the identifier used when you publish your collection as a feed.

It forms part of the public URL (website address) of your feed, combined with your Bluesky handle. It’s a good idea to keep it short so it’s easily memorable (e.g. nzpets)—but it can be up to 15 characters.

Your feed path must match:

  • Maximum 15 characters
  • Only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens
  • No spaces or other punctuation

Examples:

  • mycollection
  • useful-threads
  • nzpets
